Types of Massage & Rates

Table Massage

There are a variety of different styles, types and techniques of massage utilized by massage therapists. The following are the types of table massage I currently provide

Swedish Massage with Thai Influences

Sessions types offered are:

  • One Hour Full Body $75
  • Half Hour Target Area $38
  • 1 1/2 Hour Full Body and Target Area $110

I utilize traditional Swedish massage techniques with some Thai massage, which utilizes therapeutic stretching.
Target area massage focuses on specific areas of the body.

Prenatal Massage

Same rate as Swedish One Hour Full Body
Prenatal massage lasts one hour. The client rests on her side, supported by a body pillow and head pillow. We start on one side of the body, starting from shoulders to feet and switch to the other side. The session includes massage of the stomach area, which provides relief to the mid-section, unless requested otherwise.

Chair Massage

I offer Chair Massage for:

  • Events
  • Workplaces
  • Massage Parties
  • Individuals needing chair massage

Events and workplace massage services may be provided two ways. Services may be pre-paid per hour, allowing clients to simply receive massage services.
I may also be available to set up a massage chair at the event or workplace for no cost in which clients pay for massage therapy services. I reserve the right to decline participation at my discretion.

Massage Parties allow for multiple persons to schedule chair massage sessions back to back. Clients may determine the length of time for each session. Services are pre-paid per hour.

Individual Chair Massage may be preferable for clients wishing to receive massage services in a public location, such as an office, for those who have difficulty getting on or off of a massage table, or for those who simply prefer chair over table massage.

For chair massage, clients sit in a chair specifically made for this types of massage that supports the back and head with a cushion and head rest, respectively. Clients remain fully clothed. Focus of therapy is centered specifically on the back, shoulders, neck, head, and/or arms. It is designed for occasions where multiple clients may receive massage services, with flexibility in the length of time per client. This type of massage is ideal in workplaces, as well as public and private events.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage is similar to massage during non-pregnancy in terms of the goals (relaxation, pain relief, increased circulation & mobility, etc.). However, due to the changes undergone during pregnancy, modification are made. To accommodate swollen tender breasts and a growing belly, special pillows, positioning and techniques are utilized to ensure comfort for both the expecting mother and baby. With increasing weight, a changing center of gravity and the many other changes associated with pregnancy, prenatal massage can help provide relief and a sense of well being that is much deserved.[1]

Swedish Massage

Swedish massage uses five styles of long, flowing strokes to massage. The five basic strokes are effleurage (sliding or gliding), petrissage (kneading), tapotement (rhythmic tapping), friction (cross fiber) and vibration/shaking. Swedish massage has shown to be helpful in reducing pain, joint stiffness, and improving function in patients with osteoarthritis of the knee over a period of eight weeks. It has also been shown to be helpful in individuals with poor circulation. The development of Swedish massage is credited to Per Henrik Ling, though the Dutch practitioner Johan Georg Mezger adopted the French names to denote the basic strokes. The term "Swedish" massage is not really known in the country of Sweden, where it is called "classic massage".[2]
